Devonshire House Talks – 24.04.19
Hope you’ve had an enjoyable Easter break and enjoyed the warm UK weather. We’ve got an exciting calendar developing for 2019, here’s an insight into what’s happening at DHN. If you have any questions on our upcoming events feel free to reply to this email.
Tim Roache, General Secretary of the GMB Union is our Speaker on 30.4.19 and he will be introduced and hosted by Martin Warren of Eversheds Sutherland – and at their City facilities – 1 Wood Street, London EC2V 7WS. Martin is responsible for all Eversheds work in their Labour Relations Practice covering Labour Relations, Labour Law, Trade Unions, and Labour Relations Strategy. In particular, a couple of key and topical issues Tim will cover are implications from the Hermes case about employment status and also activities around extending trade union representation. Important stuff for not only HR Heads but also for those who might otherwise get caught out! Spaces still available here.
Richard Beesley is a Devonshire House Member and joined us on 27.3.19 to listen to Ann Francke, CEO of the Chartered Management Institute, in conversation with Rob Baker, Global Client Director I Leader, Diversity & Inclusion Consulting at Mercer. This is what Richard had to say about it.
The Devonshire House Summer Panel Debate on Corporate Governance will be held on 25th June 2019 in London. Read the full text here. Organised and presented by Devonshire House, chaired and led by Genius Boards and supported and hosted by Pinsent Masons, this Panel Debate asks the question: “Should NEDs stop things going wrong?” – debated interactively by an expert Panel described as – balancing sagacity, knowledge and experience with radical thinking, respect for accountability, non-shrinking violets… expect quite a bit of noise, entertainment and learning.”.
